Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative domestically developed interceptor drone to reinforce its air defences. The first three producers have begun manufacturing, with 11 more getting ready to set up assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials stated on Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Battlefield Situations

The drones will be based on a domestically developed technology known as “Octopus” designed to neutralize Shahed drones. The system has been tested in combat and demonstrated successful “at night, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” the ministry confirmed. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established an ambitious goal of producing as many as 1,000 defensive drones each day.

Recent Assault on Kyiv Described as Calculated

The Ukrainian president described Moscow's most recent assault on Ukraine as “deliberate, premeditated and brutal” after six individuals were killed and many others wounded in a series of nocturnal attacks across Kyiv. Russia’s second-largest oil producer Lukoil announced on Friday it is negotiating with potential buyers regarding its foreign assets after last month’s restrictions from Western nations and the collapse of an agreement with the Gunvor trading house. “Final arrangements will be announced once the final agreements have been reached and required authorizations are secured,” the company commented.

Zelenskyy Schedules Visit to Spanish Capital

Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the Spanish capital, Madrid, on Tuesday to meet with parliament members following his visit to Paris, Spanish parliamentary officials disclosed. The Ukrainian president will convene with deputies from both chambers of the legislature throughout his stay, an official announcement confirmed.
