Previous British Broadcasting Corporation Consultants Undergo MPs' Questioning After Claims of Prejudice in Leaked Memo
We start with inquiries from Conservative MP the committee chair, who oversees the committee.
She commences by offering details to the leaked memorandum prepared by Michael Prescott and released in the Telegraph.
"It is not my wish for the BBC slanting toward one side or the other, My only wish is for it balanced, unbiased and fair," he states.
In response to a query if he considers the BBC is structurally prejudiced, he responds: "No I don't. Let's be clear, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation does is world class - both documentary and entertainment programming."
However, he continues: "There is substantial tasks that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
A further previous consultant BBC consultant questioned by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it operates a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" on evolving and intricate topics.
"Was the BBC willing to engage in a thorough discussion and exchange and implement changes?" she asks herself. "As I see it, affirmative, they were."
