Netflix Casts Perfect Performer for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season
The Secret Organization is poised to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t unfold until the next season, and a cherished, popular member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed recently that the talented performer has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Mr. 2. The role can use their power to morph into an exact copy of any individual they’ve touched with their right hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that role reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the original manga and animated series.
The new cast member will work alongside a number of new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to life, including chief Sir Crocodile, played by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the ensemble as the ruler of the fictional land.
Though this character is a major member of the group, the character will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Given season 2 set to cover the Little Garden segment, this signals a major departure in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could suggest additional alterations to the story’s structure.
Their mix of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the part. In addition to their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.
The platform’s adapted One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
